chromatography A2 AQA

chromatography:

chromatography is a separation technique.

It works on the principle that mixtures can be seperated if it is dissolved in a solvent.

it works by passing over these two different phases:

  • the mobile phase carries the soluble mixture. the more soluable the components in the mobile phase the faster it moves.
  • the stationary phase, the components in the mixture are attracted to it. the more affinity the components within the solution are the slower it moves through seperating it.
