chemistry adsorption and desorption

ADSORPTION- The metal toms form weak bonds with the gas atoms, holding them in position for them tot react on the surface of the catalyst.

DESORPTION-  The products break away freeing up the catalyst so the reatcion can be completed

carbon menoxide + nitrogen oxides---> carbon dioxide + nitrogen

carbon menoxide + nitrogen oxides + hydrocarbons---> carbon dioxide + nitrogen + water
