Cells

These cards describe the different parts of both animal and plant cells and their jobs.

?

Animal cells have:

  • Cell membrane
  • Cytoplasm
  • Nucleus

Plant Cells In General

Plant cells have:

  • Cell membrane
  • Cytoplasm
  • Chloroplast
  • Vaccuole
  • Cell wall
2 of 8

Cell membrane

The cell membrane is very thin, and lets substances in and out of the cell.

3 of 8

Cell wall

The cell wall supports the plant cell and helps it keep its shape.

Chloroplasts

Chloroplasts trap the light energy that plants use to make food. That process is called photosynthesis. Inside the chloroplasts is a chemical called chlorophyl.

5 of 8

Vacuoles

Vacuoles are full of liquid cell sap in the centre of the cell.

6 of 8

Cytoplasms

The cytoplasm is where a large number of chemical reactions take place.

Nucleus

The nucleus controls all activities, growth and division that takes place in the cell.
