plant and animal cells

Eukaryotic cells are cells that contain genetic material in a nucleus. They are complex and relatively large ( plant and animal cells)

Prokaryotic cells do not contain a nucleus.Their genetic material floats in the cytoplasm. They are simple cells and are typically smaller than eukaryotic cells.(bacterial cells)

ANIMAL CELLS

nucleus: contains the activity of the cell. It contains genetic material.

cell membrane: a barrier that controls which substances pass in and out of the cell.

cytoplasm: a "jelly like" substance. The chemical reactions that kep the cell alive happen here.

mitochondrion: where respiration happens.Special protein molecules (enzymes) enable glucose and oxygen to react together.

PLANT CELL

vacuole: Full of cell sap. Supports the plant and keeps it upright.

cell wall: Surrounds the cell made of a tough fibre (cellulose) walls rigid and supports the cell.

chloroplast: Contains green chlorophll. It transfers energy from the sun to th plant as light which is used in photosynthesis. It s in only the green part of the plant.
