the quadratic formula is 

ax(squared)+bx+c

the formula for completeing the square is 

(x+b/2)squared - (b/2)squared +c

for the exam you will not be given any of the folmulas for C1 the two above are example that you would have to learn and where most people tend to forget... as far as I remeber both of these formulas are in chapter 2?? not sure but more equations:
