Brain Lateralisation; Gender differences in the use of the two halves of the brain

RESEARCH METHOD; Both males and females doing tests. 

RESULTS; Females tend to do better at language tasks, spped of speaking and arithmetical calculations. They also match items better. Males do better in spatial tasks, such as maze performance and mental rotation tasks.

CONCLUSION; Males do well in tasks controlled by the right side of the brain and less well in tasks controlled by the left hempishere; whereas females are better at using both halves.

RESEARCH METHOD; Brain scanning is used to examine brain structure.

RESULTS; The corpus callosum appears to be larger in females than in males

CONCLUSION; Female can acess both sides of the brain due to them being bilateral so the bridge( the corpus callosm) will appear larger. Males only acess the right hempishere.
