Compared to Edward, Mickey and Linda have a bad education and they don't listen at school. We see in this scene how the teacher foreshadows that Mickey will not get a job. When he is being bullied in class we see how Linda sticks up for him just like she did when they were younger. She shouts out that she loves him which embarrasses Mickey but Linda doesn't care as she wants everyone to know. This shows us how confident she is. They end up both getting suspended.
