PETERSON ET AL. & THE NOUNS
- activity in the left hemisphere of the brain was studied
- participants were asked to carry out 3 separate tasks on 3 different occasions
TASK 1
- listen passively to a list of nouns which used Wernicke's area
TASK 2
- think of verbs to attach to the nouns (eat a cake) which used Broca's area
TASK 3
- silently read the list of nouns which used Broca's area
SHOWS THAT DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE BRAIN ARE INVOLVED WITH DIFERENT ASPECTS OF LANGUAGE.
