Osmosis is the movement of water particles through a partially/semi permeable membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. This means that only small, water molecules can pass through the membrane. For example: sucrose molecules can not pass through the membrane.
Osmosis is basically the diffusion of water molecules.
Water can move in and out of cells by osmosis.
