Osmosis and Diffusion
Osmosis moves water particles from a high concentration to a low concentration through a partially permeable membrane.
Diffusion moves particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
If the soloution is isotonic (iso meaning the same), there will be the same amount of water inside as there is outside the cell reachin an equilibrium.
If the solution is hypotonic (hypo meaning less), there will be more water inside than outside the cell.
If the solition is hypertonic (hyoer meaning more), there will be more water oustide than inside the cell.
