Drugs can be:

- Medicinal - medically useful, e.g antibiotics, paracetomal and morphine

- Recreational - Used for fun, can be legal or illegal

- Performance enchancing - Improve a persons performance in sport, some are banned by law.

Stages in mediclinal drug testing:

1) Tested on human cells and tissues in the lab

2) Tested on live animals to test wether it givesd the effect we are looking for

3) Finally, tested on human volunteers. Test done blind so the paitient doesn't know wether it's the real drug or placebo.

Recreational drugs:

Split into hard and soft, hard drugs are more addictive and more harmful.
