Oneness of God and Supremacy of God's Will
Islam - Gradually revealed to humanity through various prophets over many centuries.
Means "Surrender" in Arabic
Sunni and Shia Muslims believe in Tawhid: There is only one God.
"Say 'He is God the One, God is eternal. He begot no one nor was He begotten. No one is comparable to him'" 112:1-4
Shahadah: "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet"
Repeated daily.
God is undivided entity. Not made of people or has a son.

God is the creater and controller of everything. God does everything for a reason, whether it be good or bad. The supremacy of his will is important to Sunni faith. He has power above all things.
"Inshallah" means God's willing. Used often to present the power of God. He is the one that is in control of whatever happens in the future.
"You who believe, obey God and the Messenger" - 4:59
Muslims show their belief for God in the way they live their life. They worship him.
"Misfortunes can only happen with God's permission" - 64:!1
Sunni and Shia
Sunni - When Muhammad died, Muslims believed that the only guides to belief had been the Quran and the Sunnah. Abu Bakr was their leader. The leader told people frquently to follow their beliefs.
Shia - Ali was the leader. He was Muhammad's cousin. He was the first imam that was a descendant of Muhammad.

Only one God
Angels communication message of God to humans
Quran is most important writing and highest authority in Islam
Muhammad is the most important prophet
Day of Judgement is when God decides if you go to Heaven or Hell

Prophethood - Muhammad is God's last prophet.
The Justice of God
Ressurection - Ressurected and judge by God
Imamate - Accepting that the 12 Imams are leaders of Islam and guard the truth of the religion without error.
Tawhid - God is One
Nature of God
"God is greatest" - Beyond human understanding.
Revealed himself to Muhammad and holy book. He has 99 names. Describes a quality that God has revealed about himself.
Angels
Bring word of God to prophets or messengers of God.
Supernatural and made from light
"Praise be to God, Creator of the heavens and earth, who made angels messengers with two, three, four wings" - 35:1
Involved in lives of human beings after death.
Angel Israfil will blow a trumpet that announces Day of Judgement.
Jibril is the angel that descended from the heavens and sent the Quran bit by bit to Muhammad.
Predestination
Sunni - God has determined everything. "Book of decrees"
"Only what God has decreed will happen to us. He is our Master: let the believers put their trust in God" - 9:51
Shia - God knows everything, be he has not decided it. Therefore humans have free will, and can do whatever they want.
Example: Mother offers child x or y, but he chooses x. She predicted that he was going to have x. Mother offers child y or z, but he chooses y. So she predicts, but he can choose. He was not forced.
Life after Death
Akhirah - Start of a new life.
When a human dies, they are in a state called "Barzakh" - Barrier.
Angels then question your beliefs. If they answer correctly, they will earn rewards, or otherwise...
