RESPIRATION ID THE PROCESS OF RELEASING ENERGY FROM GLUCOSE, WHICH HAPPENS CONSTANTLY IN EVERY CELL

glucose is used to build up larger molcules (like proteins), contract muscles and maintain a steady body temperature

Anaerobic & Aerobic respiration

Aerobic - Happens when there is plenty of oxygen available, releases more energy per glucose molecule.

     - used most of the time

glucose + oxygen ----> carbon dioxide + water (+ energy released)

Anarobic - doesnt use oxygen

       - releases much less energy

       - advantage is that that you can keep on using muscles (exercising)

glucose -----> lactic acid (+energy released)

ATP

  • A small molecule that is transported around cells.
  • Carries energy and released during respiration where energy is required
  • used in anaeriobc and aerobic repiration

Blood

red blood cells - transport oxygen from the lungs to all the cells in the body

white blood cells - help to fight infections

plasma - the liquid that carries everything about

platelets - help the blood to clot at the sit of a wound

There's only this much because she has actually included all we need to know- we don't desperately need anywhere else to go because she has featured it! So well done to her for putting this much in. What I do to revise is copy and then edit information into a powerpoint, highlighting key things for me and then using that: if this helps anyone.
