- Bacteria - uni-cellular

Favoured Conditions for Growth
- Warm - 35-39*C because it's the optimum temperature for enzyme activty
- Moist - to prevent dehydration which allows growth, therefore more successful effective reactions
- Oxygen - to allow aerobic respiration
- Food source - respiritary substrate
