  • feedback from the teacher 
  • he observed from a large group of children 
  • he looked at the skills and abilities at that age 
  • his research develop norms or milestones 
  • each child moved at their own pace 

conclusin- the development is predetermined at the evironment has little influence which is also delayed because of heredity

Critics- maturation theory is not useful when explaning individual

Bandura's social learning theory

  • social learning theory is based on observation through behaviour 
  • children may copy unwanted behaviour 
  • suggested that their is four stages of behavioural learning  
  • using the bobo doll 

first; child notices the behaviour 

secondly; child internalies the action 

thirdly; may not copy stright away and may do the action when the times right 

lastly; on the outcome positive or negative reinforcement children will repeat the behaviour
