Aversion Therapy

• Uses classical conditioning principles
• Treats by pairing an emetic drug / electric shock with the unwanted behaviour
• Person feels sick

• Person becomes conditioned not to drink alcohol / not to engage in the inappropriate behaviour
• Eg :

• Form of social control ( used to treat homosexual males in past )
