2010 Production

-Lots of panels on stage

-Set didn't change much: very minimalist

-Lighting changes from cold & white to warmer colours between the court & the forest

-Religion is a big focus: the characters wear crosses

-Shakespearean clothing: sets the scene

-Characters are dressed conrtived & modest

-Actors break the fourth wall, notably Touchstone

-Orlando's clothes link to the forest, as he is wearing lots of brown colours

-Makeup is pale to show they haven't gone outside, especially Duke Senior & Oliver

-Words are placed on the panels

-At some moments, characters exit stage right and other characters enter from stage left, like a conveyor belt

2019 Production

-Much more modern production

-Court- has a circular patch of grass on a wooden floor, + a swing and darkness surrounding it

-Very simple set

-At the beginning, Rosalind wears a short black dress, and Celia wears a short pink dress

-Thrust stage, same as the other production

-Male characters with high status are wearing suits e.g. Duke Senior & Oliver

-Much more diverse characters e.g. lesbian Silvius(Sylvia) & Phoebe, deaf Audrey, female Jacques

-Whole stage is lit up for the forest just after Act 2, Scene 2

-Bridge above the actual stage, allows the actors to have more opportunity to move freely around

-Mix of old & modern clothing(old in the forest, modern in the court)

-Forest gobo projected on the stage floor for the forest

-The show flows very well
