Argyle,Alkema and Gilmour

Aim - To see whether the tone of voice effects how individuals interpret vebal communication.

Method - Argyle gave different groups of particiants either friendly or hostile messges spoken in either friendly or hostile tones.

Results - The tone of voice had around 5 times the effect of the verbal message itself.

Conclusion - Tone of voice can have an effect and  change the interpretaion of the verbal messages.

Evaluation - This study was done in an artiicail manner, It only focused on the tone of voice.
