1) They used individuals from three age groups (18-25; 35-45 and 55-78). The participants were shown photographs (representing the three age groups) which they had to rate for their attractiveness. After a short 'filler' activity, they were shown 48 photographs, and they had to identify as many of the 24 photos they had previously seen.
2) Young and middle aged participants were more accurate in their recall. But all the groups were more accurate in identifying the photos of people from their own age group.
