MBUBE: - (Zulu meaning Lion) Goes back to when Zulu men worked in the mines and they formed Mbube choirs to help reinforce the identity.  - South African - Loud and powerful - High ptched vocals and 4 part harmonies in the bass line  - Homophonic or polyphonic ISICATHAMIYA: - Means "tip-toe" - Much softer and gentle - All male groups - Focases on blending their voices and harmonies - Uses 4 part harmonies and Call and Response - Dance moves - stamps and tip-toeing to keep the singers in time. LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO: An all male choir from South Africa who sing Mbube and Isicathamiya music.  The choir was formed by Joseph Shabalala in the 1960's.
