How an Act is passed (disregarding green & white p

- Drafting > draftsmen write up a bill
- First reading > an announcement that a bill has been introduced, reading out the title of it, no debate
- Second reading > debating the principles & technicalities of bill, opposition are present
- Committee stage > clauses of bill are examined line by line & any amendments are debated
- Report stage > any amendments made during previous stage must be considered & approved
- Third reading > quite short, bill reviewed on its final form, no further amendments can be made
- Handed to House of Lords for similar procedure
- Royal Assent > Signed by the Monarch & made into an Act.
