Marxists criticise the labelling theory because they believe that it fails to examine the wider social and economic sturucture of law making, enforcement and offending taking place.
They see law and crime as being a produce of capitalism
they see society divided into two classes- the capitalist class and the working class
Gordon argues that crime is a rational response to the capitalist society system thats why it is an apparent 'working class phenomenon'.
Marxists see law making and reinforcement as only serving the interests of the capitalist class.
They see stability as merely a result of the dominant class imposing their will on society.
