Utilitarianist Approach

  • Utilitarianists would argue that depending on the situation, abortion is acceptable. For example, if someone falls pregnant due to a **** attack, abortion seems the sensible and appropriate option.
  • Does not accept that human life has an absolute value and should be upheld whatever the consequences.
  • Only works if it is possible to assess the results of an absolute value and should be upheld whatever the consequences.
  • Considers the preference of the mother, the harm of other family members.
