Cratchit dinner scene

Dickens uses different techniques to create the feeling of a happy family even though we know the Cratchit's are very poor.In the Cratchit family ,everyone helps out and works as a team.In the centre of the book, the Cratchit's are eating christmas dinner, whilst Scrooge and the ghost of christmas present watch them .

For example ,'Miss Belinda changes the plates' shows how helpful she is and this makes the happy family look like a unit and suggests that everyone has a sense of belonging, symbolising the central image of the book:we all need to be part of a community.
