2.1 Limestone and its issues

Limestone is mainly made of calcium carbonate (CaCo₃). Blocks of limestone can be used for building and limestone can be used to make:

        Calcium oxide

        Cement

To make calcium oxide (CaO) you strongly heat calcium carbonate, thermally decomposing it,      CaCo₃ + Heat = Co₂ + CaO
