o   Excess of emotion, e.g. mania, phobia

o   Excessive change in emotion, e.g. personality disorder

o   Mismatch between emotional experience and expression, e.g. schizophrenia

o   Social emotion deficit, e.g. autism

o   Problem in understanding and describing emotion, e.g. alexithymia

o   Therefore, need transdiagnostic approach that focuses on emotion processes e.g. awareness, regulation
