A mole of substance is the amount of substance which contains as many particles (atoms, ions or molecules) as 12.0g of Carbon-12.
The number of particles in one mole is 6.02 x 1023, this is Avogadro's constant (L).
e.g. 1 mole of H2O contains 6.02 x 1023 molecules and therefore 18.06 x 1023 atoms .
