Chapter 1 Numbers:
1. Using a calculator
You must have a scientific calculator to work out arithmetic calculations
When there are complicated numbers shown after a calculation do not round your numbers
part way through a calculation; use all figures shown on your calculator. Only round the final
answer.
Reciprocal of a number n is 1/n which we can write in the calculator as n-1 by using the x-1
key on your calculator.
2. Number problems
This comes in the exams as mostly like the worded question so you should read the
questions carefully
If you didn't understand it the first time don't just move on read it again and again
Sometimes it is use to rewrite the information is give in order for you to do your
calculations.
These problems could involve fractions or decimals or both.
This also include proportion so you must know that it is direct proportion when both
quantities are increasing or decreasing at the same rate

3. Converting recurring decimals to fractions
All recurring decimals can be converted into fractions.
To do this you need to:

Multiply both sides of the equation by 10 if 1 digit recurs, 100 if 2 digits recur, 1000 if
