Probing the nucleus
Probing the atom
We can fire an electron at an atom and one of three things will occur depending
on the energy of the electron:
1. Elastic collision (Snooker balls)
Low energy electrons
2. In-Elastic collision
Higher energy electrons
3. Ionisation
Even higher energy electrons
