Why Christians believe in Life after
Death and how it affect there lives
Christians believe that after death everyone will be punished or rewarded in some way.
Because :
· Jesus rose from the dead
· New testament says there is life after death
· Creeds ; Jesus rose, God will judge people in the future and there is life after death.
· Immortality of the Soul; body dies, soul lives
· Life after death gives meaning
How this affects there life:
· Encourages them to live a good life if they are going to be judged
· Live life with hope, they will have eternal life.
· Comfort when family + friends die

Non-religious reasons for believing in life after
Near Death experience: being dead and coming back to life after a short time but they can
remember what happens. If they are true, there is life after death Main Features :
· Felling at peace
· Floating above the body
· Seeing a bright light
· Entering heavily place, seeing dead relatives
Ghosts : some believe that they are spirits of the dead, people experience them in different
ways, they may say :
· A shadowy figure, looks likes dead relative, pass through objects, may speak.
· Sense the presence of the ghost
· They feel haunted or scared
· Feel comforted or reassured
Evidence of a spiritual world : mainly comes from mediums, (people who claim that they can
contact the dead) they claim that :
· Jesus+ other religious leaders, were in touch with the spiritual world
· Contact with the dead and in out only things relatives would know ect.
Evidence of reincarnation : Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs believe in reincarnation evidence :
· Déjà vu
· People claim to have memories of past lives

Why some do not believe in life after
Some people don't believe in life after death, because:
· Life after death is in most Holy books, which contradict each other. I.e. bible: immortality of
the soul, Qur'an: resurrection etc.
· No-one has undoubtedly returned from the dead
· Mediums are just fooling people
· Science shows when we dies, the brain stops; this makes it impossible to live
· They don't believe in God, no God = No life after death
