GLOBAL WARMING
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earth's nearsurface, air and oceans
since the mid20th century and its projected continuation.
CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING.
The causes of global warming are divided into two groups namely
Natural causes
Manmade causes
MAN MADE CAUSES
The main possible way in which man has been held responsible for global warming is the
gradual increase in the Green House Gases. Man is responsible for the emission of the greenhouse
gasses in many ways which include
The burning of fossil fuels in the cars, factories and electricity production which lead
to the production of carbon dioxide which is emitted to the atmosphere and it is the
main cause of the warming. The other participants to the global warming are
methane released from landfills and agriculture (mainly from remains of the dead
animals and plants), nitrous oxide from fertilisers, gases for refrigeration.
Deforestation:
Deforestation refers to the cutting down of trees without replanting or replacing the
cut ones. The trees help to maintain a balance of gasses in the atmosphere by giving
out oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide. There has been an increase in the amount
of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere due to the fact that the trees that help to
maintain the balance of gasses in the atmosphere have been cut down.
Industrialisation:
This refers to the process of social and economic change that transforms a human
group from a manual society where all things are done manually into an industrial
one. This leads to the emission of greenhouse gases during the manufacture of
products.
NATURAL CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING.
Climate Change Cycles
one of the natural causes of global warming is the regular climate change cycles, which occur over a
period of around forty thousand years. Since the earth was first created there have been cycles of
cooling and cycles of warming, and this continues today. This does not mean that global warming
sceptics are correct not to worry about global warming.

Methane greenhouse gas is released from many areas of the globe and from animals like cattle as
well. Wetlands and tundra vegetation geography contribute to conditions that release this gas into the
atmosphere, where it becomes trapped and in its turn contributes to the increased warming of the
planet.
3. Solar Cycles and Sunspots
Global warming sceptics point to solar cycles and sunspots to show that the earth warms
naturally without humans contributing.…read more

It has also led to the extinction of some animal species which cannot stand higher
temperature. Some are moving further north to cooler or higher areas according to the
temperatures they can leave in.
It has led to rise of sea levels. Sea level rising has become faster over the last century.
It leads to the flooding of low lying areas as result of the ice caps melting.…read more

There are various measures imposed to reduce global warming. These ways are unfair to the
developing countries in many ways. So in order to see how unfair they are to these countries I have
to put the measures put forward in consideration.
The measures put forward suppress the development of the developing countries since it
limits the technology used in the manufacture of vehicle e.g.…read more
