Evidence for Plate Tectonics
One of the first pieces of evidence suggesting the existence of plate tectonics was the discovery of
similar fossils and rocks, in areas that have been separated by large areas of land and ocean. EG
rocks of similar type, age and formation have been found in south east Brazil and South Africa. A plant
which existed when coal was being formed has only been located in India and Antarctica.
