First 204 words of the document:

Diabetes is when the pancreas doesn't make enough or any insulin.
Without Insulin:-
Blood sugar levels get higher and higher
Eventually your kidneys produce glucose in your urine.
Lot's of urine produced thirst all the time.
Glucose cannot get into the cells of the body = lack of energy
Fat and protein is then broken down and used as fuel instead, so you lose weight
Diabetes can be treated by; managing your diet or injecting insulin before meals.
The injected insulin allows glucose to be taken in by your body cells and converted into glycogen in the liver.
THIS STOPS THE CONCENTRATION OF GLUCOSE IN YOUR BLOOD FROM GETTING TOO HIGH.
Insulin injections successfully treat diabetes but they do not cure it.
Key Points:
1. Your blood glucose concentration is monitored and controlled by your pancreas.
2. The Pancreas produces the hormone insulin, which allows glucose to move from the blood into the
cells.
3. In diabetes, the blood glucose may rise to fatally high levels because the pancreas does not secrete
enough insulin. It can be treated by injections of insulin before meals.
