First 174 words of the document:

Animal cells contain:
Nucleus: controls all activities of the cell, also contains the instructions for making
new cells or organisms.
Cytoplasm: a liquid gel in which most of the chemical reactions needed for life take
Cell membrane: controls the passage of substances in and out of the cell.
Mitochondria: structures in the cytoplasm where oxygen is used and most of the
energy is released during respiration.
Ribosome's: where protein synthesis takes place. All the proteins needed in the cell
are made here.
Every plant cell has:
A cell wall: Made of cellulose, which strengthens the cell and gives it support.
Not all plant cells have:
Chloroplasts: found in all green parts of the plant. They are green because they
contain the green substance chlorophyll which gives the plant its colour. They absorb
light energy to make food by photosynthesis.
Permanent vacuole: important for keeping the cell
rigid to support the plant.
