Magnified or Diminished?
The best lens arrangement for a telescope is a small convex lens and a large convex lens this
is because it is the only lens arrangement that actually magnifies an image.
It is shown in the above diagram the further the smaller lens is from your eye, the more
magnified the image would be because of the rays being given more time to stretch out. The
image would be upside down, obviously, because the rays have refracted that way. Note
that the ray on the principal axis does not refract at all.
