Carbon dioxide ­ a gas produced by respiration by both plants and
animals and then used by plants for photosynthesis.
Cellulose ­ substance made by plants that forms the structure of
their cell walls.
Fat ­ food storage molecules made form fatty acids and glycerol.
Glucose ­ a type of sugar that is produced by photosynthesis and
used as an energy source in respiration.
Limiting factor ­ a factor such as light, temperature or carbon
dioxide where a lack of it limits the rate of photosynthesis.
Oil ­ liquid fat.
Photosynthesis ­ the process in which plants convert water and
carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose using energy from the Sun.
Protein ­ large polymer molecule made from a combination of
amino acids.
Respiration ­ a process that takes place in living cells converting
glucose and oxygen into water and carbon dioxide with a release
of energy.
Starch ­ a carbohydrate food storage substance produced by
plants.
