Preview of Atoms

First 126 words of the document:

Fact: Atoms are really small. They are too small to see even with a microscope.
The nucleus contains the protons and neutrons.
The nucleus:
In the middle of the atom
Positive charge=protons
Neutral charge= Neutrons
Almost the whole mass of the atom is concentrated in the nucleus
Protons have the mass of 1 and a charge of +1(Since there positive)
Neutrons have also the mass of 1 but they have no charge
The electrons:
-Move around (orbit) the nucleus
-Electrons=negatively charged
-They are tiny but cover a lot of space
-They occupy shells around the nucleus
-Electrons have a mass of >1 and charge is -1 (since it is negative)
