First 93 words of the document:

X= 9 + y (move the y on the other side; it turns positive)
So now substitute that into the first equation
(9 + y) + y = 15
So 9 + 2y + 15
2y = 6 (15-9)
y=3
So lets put that back in one of the equations :
x- 3 = 9
x = 12 ( 9 + 3)
So finally lets see if that works for the other equation
12(x) + 3 (y) = 15
Yaay it works!
So we've done it by substitution, we have to find a equation for x or y to put
into the equation :P
