Advantages

  • Large scale production means economies of scale, so lower average unit costs
  • Large sales volume means high revenue, to be pumped into R&D
  • Easy, as everyone is equally targeted

Disadvantages

  • Lots of competition
  • Products are similar, so must be differentiated through marketing, which can be expensive
  • High volume production not flexible to demand changes

Evaluation

The market aimed at the general population, so is sold to all consumers in the same way.
