The Under class and Working class

Similarities

  • Both towards the bottom end of the hierachy
  • Both my rely on some sort of benefits dues to the reverse army of labour
  • Man and Bagguely believe the underclass and working class are the same. the underclass is just the working class moving in and out of employment
  • Both think masculinity is shown in labour work

Differences

  • Underclass are seen as outcast whereas working class are just different division within the class system
  • Working class work for the money in routinized low paid jobs, whereas underclass dont tend to work
  • Underclass increaseing whilst working class are decreasing

Overall comparison

The underclass are at the bottom of society and struggle financially, educationally and with employment. Whereas the working class are working in jobs even if they are routinized. The working class often find there way up and down the hierarchical system into the middle class as well as the underclass.
