the strenght and weaknesses of roman public health

Advantages

  • Aqueducts carried water mile to towns
  • Hospital for soldiers
  • water fountain providing fresh water for washing and drinking
  • water fountain provides the poor with water

Disadvantages

  • lead poisoning from water pipes
  • sewers could over flow due to rain and the water spreads disease

Evaluation

The romans made these public health facilities the law in town so that all town had to prevent disease. However errors in their design meant that disease was cause. the lead piped gave people lead poising and the over flowing sewers also spread disease.
