Tablets Will Never Completely Replace PCs

Advantages

  • Light
  • Compact
  • Easy to use
  • There are lots of good, free apps to download
  • Can have large screen sizes, as well as PCs
  • Portable (can be taken abroad easily)
  • Less expensive to but than PCs

Disadvantages

  • Annoying adverts popping up and blocking your view
  • They cannot perform every task as efficiently as computers do
  • Fiddliness of typing onscreen means that composing and editing documents is much harder on tablets compared to a PC
  • Sometimes you have to click several times to select something or enlarging it - never occurs with a mouse click
  • Hard to print from a tablet without using some sort of 'cloud' trickery really
  • Harder to repair

Evaluation

'Death of the PC'?Seems that the sales of PC are decreasing but this doesn't mean that people aren't using PCs as much: - Need replacing less frequently- Upgrade operating systems every few years without having to buy a whole new machine- Many people have both a tablet (leisure) and a computer (work)
