The Incremental Model

Advantages

Produces working software quickly and early on in the software development life cycle
Flexible model - less expensive to change scope and system requirments
Each iteration is an easily managed stage
Easier to manage risk - problems are identified and handled during iteration, not at the end
Easier to test and debug the software early in the build process

Disadvantages

Each phase of an iteration is fixed with no real parallel development
Problems can arise with software architecture, as not all of the requirements are worked out before the start of the software life cycle

Evaluation

Overall, this is useful to produce working software quickly.
