	Causes Germany had been defeated Arguments about boundaries (particularly Poland) Russia wanted more reparations from Germany Stalin had refused to hold free elections Truman dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki	Effects They had no common enemy and so their differences caused tensions Tensions arose The allies thought this was too much. Although Russia could take whatever it wanted from the soviet zone, they wanted more. Truman was angry about Stalin arresting the non-communist leaders of Poland. Stalin had broken Yalta agreements Stalin was furious that the USA had not told him they had developed an atomic bomb
