	Advantages Understanding Conciousness: Doctors can make more knowledgeable decisions on whether they should turn off a life support machine for a person who is showing no evidence of conciousness by seeing if there is any stimulation in the claustrum. Treating Criminal Behaviour: Offering drugs to criminals to cure their impulsive and aggressive behaviour could mean a safer society to live in. Treating Criminal Behaviour: If we know what regions of the cerebral cortex are effected to create criminal behaviour then we can keep an eye on those with deformities in these regions.
