Negative Pressure Ventilator

Advantages

  • Can be used at home
  • No tubes through the throat
  • Reduces risk of infection
  • Very protective
  • Lungs are less likely to collapse as they don't force air in
  • Only other option besides death

Disadvantages

  • Can't move around
  • If it isn't set up properly, then it's not very safe

Evaluation

Most similar to natural breathing process--> It reduces the pressure like a normal lung--> Creates a suction from higher pressure outside to low pressure inside
