Disadvantages

  • Decided at Royal Counsel that the real Earl of Warwick, who was imprisoned in the Tower of London, was to be paraded around London.
  • Also decided by the Counsel that Elizabeth Woodville would be deprived of her estates and confined to  nunnery, to prevent her from conspiring against the King.
  • Henry also set up beacons on the East Coast.
  • Henry was shrewd - he took action to undermine any Ricardian/Yorkist support by promising favours to magnates eg. Earl of Northumberland.

Evaluation

Overall, after analysing the evidence we can see that the rebellion of Lambert Simnel had significantly more weaknesses than strengths. Henry had numerous advantages in this situation, originating both from the disadvantages of his opponents and his personal strengths.
