Advantages

  • It is a cure for kidney failure which can enhance your life.
  • Cheaper for the NHS than having kidney dialysis.

Disadvantages

  • The kidney can be rejected causing the destruction of the kidney.
  • Kidneys aren't readily available. You have to wait until somebody dies from natural causes that was on the donor list or a family member that is a match and willing to do it,
  • Have to take immunosuppressant drugs to hep, prevent rejection of the kidney,
  • It is an operation so can cause complications.

Evaluation

This is a procedure that is a cure for kidney failure which is beneficial as if enhances your life. However, this operation isn't widely available and can be rejected even when you have had it so would then have to wait for another one that was available.
