Just war theory nuclear weapons

Advantages

  • the possesion of nuclear weapons has kept superpowers from coming to war because of fear of what might happen (M.A.D)
  • major superpowers have these bombs for a deterrence than for an unstable dictator to use them in war

Disadvantages

  • their destructive power is long lasting and innocent countries will be effective
  • they are very expensive and instead of making more the money could be used to boost the quality of life for people
  • there is no effective protection against them and people cannot control who has access to them

Evaluation

there should be no nuclear weapons as the use of them can wipe out humanity in a matter of days and could lead to destruction. however, the thought of having nuclear weapons is good as they present fear into world superpowers and deters them from going to war as the result could mean M.A.D.
