  • Bad tempered or nasty ( "ugly without silliness")("turning, or ready to turn to anger")
  • Bossy to the choir, however they dont actually like him ("dreary obedience")

  • Hates Ralph and being in charge and often challenges him
  • Makes up rules to suit himself, such as saying the conch "doesn't count" "bllocks to the rules!"

  • Bullies piggy, He calls the littluns 'cry-babies' for being afraid of the beast

  • Naturally voilent and agressive
  • Jack is vicious with his words , especially to piggy, he calls him "fatty" to make the others laugh and tells him to "shut-up"
  • Later he punches Piggy and smacks him
  • When he has his own tribe, Jack gives up being fair and rules as a dictator. He uses violence to keep control of his tribe
  • After piggy's death, jack hurls his spear straight at Ralph. His violence is open and deliberate
  • He's the first to injure and kill a pig.
  • He starts to have "compulsion to track down and kill"
  • Golding makes Jack sound like an animal ("bloodthirsty snarling")
  • Paints his face and becomes an "awesome stranger" who isnt responsible for his actions
